If a user account has an associated Partner API login, you can view details of this login and change the password.

To open Partner API login details, go to the Accounts tab > click an account > Partner API tab. This tab displays Partner API logins that belong to the selected user account.

To change the password of a Partner API login:

  1. In the list of Partner API logins, click the link in the Login column.

  2. On the login details page, click Generate New Password.

    A new encrypted password for authorization in the Partner API service will be generated.

To activate or deactivate a Partner API login:

  1. In the list of Partner API logins, click the link in the Login column.
  2. On the login details page, click Disable or Enable.

To view which Partner API methods are available for the selected login:

  1. In the list of Partner API logins, click the link in the Login column.
  2. On the login details page, click View next to a role (in the Permissions field).

Partner API User Roles

The following Partner API roles are supported in Partner Central:

  • All Commands for Client.

    The customer can perform all operations on licenses (search for licenses; modify existing licenses; create, upgrade, downgrade, and suspend licenses).

  • Advanced Commands for Client.

    The customer can perform all operations on licenses except for the suspending (search for licenses; modify existing licenses; create, upgrade, and downgrade licenses).

  • Standard Commands for Client.

    The customer can perform all operations on licenses except for the downgrade and suspension of licenses (search for licenses; modify existing licenses; create and upgrade licenses).

  • Limited Commands for Client.

    The customer can search for licenses and modify existing licenses with some limitations (no possibility to create, upgrade, downgrade, suspend, or assign a product configuration to a license).

  • All Commands for Reseller.

    The reseller can perform all operations on licenses and customers: search for licenses; modify existing licenses; create, upgrade, downgrade, and suspend licenses; search for customers, create and modify customer accounts.

  • Advanced Commands for Reseller.

    The reseller can perform the following operations on licenses and customers: search for licenses; modify existing licenses; create, upgrade, downgrade licenses; search for and create customer accounts.

  • Standard Commands for Reseller.

    The reseller can perform the following operations on licenses and customers: search for licenses; modify existing licenses; create and upgrade of licenses; search for and create customer accounts.

  • Limited Commands for Reseller.

    The reseller can perform the following operations on licenses and customers: license search, limited modification of existing licenses of licenses (no possibility to create, upgrade, downgrade, suspend, or assign a product configuration to a license); search for customer accounts.

License modification commands include activation, adding notes, binding, retrieval, terminating, changing password, and some other commands.

Note: Commands of both Partner API 1.0 and 3.0 are available for each role. The exact list of commands available for a role is displayed when you click View next to the role (in the Permissions field) on the Partner API login details page.
