Plesk provides two alternative ways to automate post-install server configuration: using either Plesk Command-line Interface (CLI) or Plesk XML API.

The two main steps in Plesk post-install configuration are:

  1. Specifying server administrator’s personal information and password (initial setup)
  2. Installing a product license key

Without these, Plesk will not function. Other settings can be configured either at the same or at a later time.
