summary

When you have a question about Plesk, finding the answer often means leaving Plesk. You search the knowledge base, look through the documentation, or open a support ticket for something that turns out to be a single setting.

The AI Support Assistant answers those questions inside the Plesk interface. You type your question in a chat, and the Assistant answers from the Plesk knowledge base and the official Plesk documentation.

In this topic, you will learn what the AI Support Assistant does, how to open the chat, how to work with your conversations, and how to turn the Assistant on and off.

Overview

The AI Support Assistant answers questions about Plesk features, configuration, and troubleshooting. For example, you can ask it how to set up a service, where to find a setting, or how to fix a common configuration problem.

The Assistant answers from the Plesk knowledge base and the official Plesk documentation. This keeps its guidance consistent with what Plesk publishes for your version. It also means the Assistant stays on Plesk topics. If you ask about something else, it tells you that the question falls outside its scope.

The Assistant remembers the earlier questions in a conversation, so you can ask a follow-up question without repeating the details. It also keeps your conversations, so you can leave one, start another, and come back to the first later.

If your question is too general to answer well, the Assistant asks you what you mean rather than guessing. Ask it about turning the DNS server off, for example, and it asks whether you want to disable the DNS service or need help fixing a problem with it. Answer the question, and the Assistant continues. If your question already says exactly what you want, you get your answer immediately.

The Assistant answers questions and points you to the right procedure. It does not change settings for you. To let an AI agent manage a Plesk server, use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) support in Plesk instead. An AI agent that uses MCP can create subscriptions, check services, and change configuration.

Примечание

Only server administrator accounts can use the AI Support Assistant. Customers and resellers do not see it.

Read the answers before you act on them. The Assistant describes the usual way to do something in Plesk, and your server may differ. Check any command or setting against your own configuration first, and take a backup before you make a change that is hard to undo.

Enabling the AI Support Assistant

Plesk automatically enables the AI Support Assistant on new servers with a retail license that you deploy after August 4, 2026. On other servers, you enable it yourself.

Примечание

This topic describes the AI Support Assistant in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.81 and later. Plesk Obsidian 18.0.78 through 18.0.80 include an earlier version of the Assistant that works differently. Update Plesk to get the behavior that this topic describes.

To enable the AI Support Assistant:

  1. Open the panel.ini file for editing. You can find the file here:

    • (Plesk for Linux) The /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/panel.ini file.

    • (Plesk for Windows) The %plesk_dir%admin\conf\panel.ini file.

You can also edit the file in the Plesk interface with the Panel.ini Editor extension.

  2. Add these lines to the file, and then save it:

    1[copilot]
    2chat.enabled = true

The chat button now appears in the top-right corner of the Plesk interface. To disable the Assistant, set the chat.enabled setting to false.

Примечание

Plesk Obsidian 18.0.81 removed the chat.searchEnabled setting from the [copilot] section. If your panel.ini file still carries the setting, Plesk ignores it, and you can remove the line.

Using the AI Support Assistant

To ask the AI Support Assistant a question:

  1. Log in to Plesk as the server administrator.

  2. Click the chat button in the top right corner of the interface.

  3. Type your question, and then press Enter.

The Assistant answers in the chat. If the answer does not fit your case, ask a follow-up question in the same conversation.

If you do not see the chat button, your server does not have this feature enabled yet. See Enabling the AI Support Assistant.

The Assistant keeps every conversation you start. You can hold several at once, such as one about a mail problem and another about a PHP setting, and return to any of them.

To start a new conversation:

  1. In the «AI Support Assistant» panel, click the plus icon.

Your current conversation stays where it is, and you can reopen it from the history.

To reopen an earlier conversation:

  1. In the «AI Support Assistant» panel, click the clock icon.

Find your conversations in the «History» list, each one named after the first question you asked.

  2. (Optional) To narrow the list down, click the filter icon, and then filter by «Active» or «Archived».

  3. Click the conversation you want.

It opens with all of its questions and answers, and you can ask more questions.

To archive a conversation you have finished with:

  1. In the «AI Support Assistant» panel, click the clock icon.

  2. Next to the conversation you want to archive, click the three dots, and then click Archive.

Rating an answer

Each answer includes thumbs-up and thumbs-down controls. Rate the answers you receive. The Plesk team reviews these ratings to improve the Assistant, and a rating is the quickest way to report an answer that was wrong or did not help.
